You don’t get a chance for a mulligan in life, you only get one chance with your children, with your family, with the ones you love. Family photos are one of the most important things you can do with your family! When Catherine contacted me and said they were all going to be together for the first time in a long time and she wanted family photos taken, and when she said at the beach ~ SIGN me up!!! I love the beach and love taking photos on the beach, they have such a light and airy and just dreamy looking!
When I arrived at the house the wind was BLOWING!!! There were so many white caps and the sand was blowing on the top like knives hitting your legs. I thought to myself, how am I going to make these look good? Their hair is going to be a mess, someone is going to be cold, but I am an eternal optimist and I know I can make lemonade out of this big bucket of lemons! Well, see what you think!
Catherine wanted to have a few different group photos, some with just the kids, some with couples, some with Catherine and Brett and their 9 month old grand baby Cash! When you have a young child or children involved in family photos, you have to take photos of them first, and keep them happy and busy, so that’s who we started with! We had Corson toss Cash up in the air and make him laugh and major distracted from being cold and the crazy wind. I wish you could see the whole family behind me being the biggest cheering squad trying to distract and make Cash happy, I am sure the neighbors where like “what are those crazy people doing!”. But I think we got some pretty cute pictures!
Since it was sooo windy I wanted to try to be fast, which sometimes can be a bad thing. I am constantly telling myself to slow down, look for details so I don’t have to edit things out on the computer. When we did the pictures for Mallory and Grant the wind was working in our favor, it was like I brought my own fan with me hehe! We had a little bit of time for Mallory and Grant’s shoot and they had never had a shoot together, so I wanted to pick poses that were sweet and romantic and timeless.
With all of the changes this year, one of the things that didn’t get celebrated was Mallory graduating from Georgetown University school of Law. All the years of school, late night studying, hours of research and worrying about where to sit in class, have all come to an end and 2020 happens! The Davis Family wanted to do a little surprise for Mallory and had these shirts made.
Catherine is the queen of organization, committees and involved in school activities. The Year of 2020 was not what they had planned! The last of the Davis kiddos (Hudson) were going to rock the wrestling mats, Landon was taking California by storm, Mallory was graduating from Georgetown School of Law, and Corson, Sophia and Cash were spreading their wings in Montana. Then Covid happened! So Catherine had these awesome t-shirts made to document this not so awesome year!!! I love a family who can laugh with each other and have a little fun!
Last but not least, was a quick few pictures of Cash and Mimi, he was a little cold and getting tired, but we wanted to try to get some cute ones of the two of them. Catherine is a loving wonderful mom and I know she LOVES being a Mimi!!! I think we got some special shots of the two of them. Again, I wish you could see the craziness behind me trying to make Cash-man happy, distracted and smiling ~ The neighbors were sure glad when I was leaving!!!
I hope you will go and check out the rest of the Davis Family photos, and don’t forget to sign-up to receive emails when new blog posts are up!
