Sometimes you just click with certain people, this is what happened when I met Jessica, Matt and Cameron. I first met Jessica at a scrapbook class in 2013 when I was first starting, and needless to say (thank GOD) I have gotten a lot better behind the camera! In 2014 I photographed Jessica and Matt’s wedding, and we’ve been taking photos every year since 2013.
Jessica has scheduled family pictures every year since 2013 and it’s been fun to find that special/different spot each year to give them a different look. We have taken photos at waterfront park, Deepwoods Estates, Pioneer Park, areas in Stayton, the Beach, and Minto Brown Park just to name a few. You Might even call this the many hairstyles of Jessica.
One of the things that Jessica has done when we take the family photos is to have me take Cameron’s school photos. Here are a few fun examples of watching Cam grow up! It’s such an honor for people to trust me with this special memory!
Some of the fun things about capturing a family for this many years, you also capture some outtakes or bloopers. I can always count on Matt to give me some good ones! The one at the beach I think is still one of my favorite. I was shooting just Jessica and Matt together and Matt would not stop talking, I jokingly said, Matt we are going to need to cover up your mouth~ Jessica reached over and this is the fun photo I got of them!
Jessica and Matt always like to do a few pictures of just the two of them and here is a collage of some of the sweet romantic photos we have captures through the year.
I know that Jessica likes to print and frame her photos every year, so many people get their family photos taken but don’t do any thing with them (which breaks my heart!), I have some great examples of how to make wall collages at your home or apartment. There are a lot of different vendors out there that offer great coupons for prints, canvas’s or frames.
One of the family members that I haven’t mentioned is the family dog, Suede. You can see that his muzzle has gotten a little grayer and he has gotten a little bit lazier. Suede has been a good sport, he has worn a tie, Santa hats, just to name a few. But I have to say one of my family pictures was my very first shoot with Suede, and he actually smiled when we did the family photos, you can see this in the family photos in front of the white doors. Check out some of his greatest hits!
If your children are teenagers, small kiddos or haven’t arrived yet, I highly suggest to take the time and make the effort to take family photos every year! Go and check out Jessica, Matt and Cam’s family pictures for 2020. Don’t forget to sign up for email updates for new posts on my blog!
