I meet the sweetest couple yesterday! Due to COVID, I have been trying to be SUPER flexible with changes, and I want to work extra hard to make their day special! I photographed their wedding, due to COVID, it had been rescheduled and downsized. They had family come in from out of state and they were all excited to watch this special union between two very best of friends. When you take your vows and you say “In sickness and health” some people don’t take these words as forever, but these ladies take this as gospel! A few months ago one of these ladies was pretty sick, and in the hospital. She is still dealing with the side effects of being ill but you can tell how much they take care for each other and take care of one another.
Cassie and Kathy contacted me on Wedding Wire, do you know the feeling, when you aren’t really sure why something or someone comes into your life, you just know things happen for a reason. I was meant to meet these ladies, and I was meant to be present at this union! We talked about what they wanted, keeping it simple and they had a few things they really wanted, photos of the wedding and family present to witness their special day. I really think we captured some beautiful and special pictures.
The location was a private venue/farm and with COVID they were able to socially distance their guests. They had special white masks for each guest (including me), so my other mask was put in my pocket and their special mask went on.
Cassie got ready in the main house with help from her friends with hair and make up. Then her mom came in to help get her dress put on and final touches on. It was a special moment with Cassie and her mom, they had already re-scheduled the wedding once, and there was talk about closing the state borders down so to be able to have her mom present was very special.
It’s always fun to incorporate some of the funny jokes that came up while doing the planning, Cassies mom was very excited to see the wedding at the farm. She asked if they would be sitting on hay bails? So for the wedding they got mom a hay bail to sit on. Another funny that came up was they were going to have a “shotgun wedding” (did you know if you click on the hyper link it gives you detail about this) well, at this stage of the game, that wasn’t going to happen but we made some cute memories because of it.
This was a small, quant, sweet wedding that showed me that no matter what age you are, you can find happiness and your best friend. These two ladies were so sweet together and love each other dearly. I hope we all can be so happy. Go and check out the rest of Cassie and Kathy’s pictures and I you will sign up for more blog posts!
